BCC Members,Secunderabad Visit 14 Churches

As part of our Lenten programme, we members of the BCC group of Secunderabad planned to visit 14 Churches to make the Stations of the Cross.

We gathered at St. Mary’s Basilica on April 1st at 8 am. where we prayed, reflected on the First Station: Jesus condemned to death and sang the first stanza of Stabat Mater. We then went by Traveller to St.Francis de Sales Parish, Shantinagar for our 2nd Station: Jesus carries the heavy Cross on his shoulder. Then to St. Cecilia’s Parish, Dayanandnagar for the 3rd Station” Jesus Falls the first time. Then to St. Joseph’s Church, Maolali for the 4th Station: Jesus meets his Mother. Then to St. John the Baptist Church, Arul Colony for the 5th Station: Simon the Cyrianian helps Jesus carry his Cross. Then to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Damaiguda for the 6th station: Veronica wipes the Face of Jesus. Then to St. Sebastian’s Church, Sainikpuri for the 7th Station: Jesus falls the 2nd time. Then to St. Anthony’s Church, Gandhinagar for the 8th Station: The Women of Jerusalem weep for Jesus. Then to St. Bernard’s Church, Ammuguda for the 9th Station: Jesus falls the 3rd time. Then to Yapral for the 10th Station: Jesus is Stripped of his Garments. Then to St. Joseph’s Church, Bolarum for the 11th Station:  Jesus is nailed to the Cross. Then to St. Joseph’s Church, inside St. Ann’s School campus, Bolarum for the 12th station: Jesus dies on the Cross. Then to St. Anthony’s Church, Venkatapuram for the 13th station: Jesus is taken down from the Cross. Then to Holy Family Church, Trimulgherry for the 14th Station: Jesus is laid in the tomb.  And finally to St. Joseph’s Cathedral to see the latest developments inaugurated on the feast of St. Joseph.

All of us experienced this tour of the 14 Churches singing all the stanzas of Stabat Mater after every station following our Lord in his Passion as a very prayerful pilgrimage. We thanked God that we could make it.

Mission Sunday 2024

 Mission Sunday 2024 Th e Daughters of St Paul visited three parishes in far flung periphery parishes of the Archdiocese of Secunderabad on 20 th October, 2024 to bring to the people there Bibles and other Religious books in Telugu and also religious articles for their use. The sisters went two by two to the parishes of Gajwel, Bayyaram and Alirajpet. The parish priest and the people welcomed them and picked up what they needed for their spiritual life. They returned home with much joy and satisfaction in their hearts for having gone out of their way to reach the Word of God to where people live. - Sr Claudette Miranda fsp

Vocation Work at Nalla Jerla in Andhra Pradesh.

  Vocation Work at Nalla Jerla in Andhra Pradesh. At the request of Fr Anthony a Cleritian priest   Srs Tara and Nancy set out for vocation work to Nalla Jerla a village situated in Eluru.   This parish is run by the Claretian fathers. This parish is consisting of 7 villages. We reached there on 9 th afternoon. After the lunch and little rest, towards the evening we visited one of the villages and met the girls of 7 th , 8 th , 9 th and 10 th . They are basically farmers and many of them study in Govt and private run schools. Some of them are studying in Fathere’s English Medium School. Next day being Sunday after the Mass we visited two more villages. Some girls we met in the Church itself and others in their homes. We found the Parish priest and the people were very simple and welcoming.   Since there is no convent of sisters, the children have no idea about the religious life.
